To those who hate Sony

So this by far is one of the biggest moments in gaming history.
Six weeks from E3 the Playstation Network was compromised.

Now you Xbox players are partying it up, but you do realize this can have a HUGE effect on all gamers, not just PS3 users. Think about it, if this is the end of Sony (Which it very well could be.) the only serious company left in the gaming industry is Microsoft...


What does that mean for you? Well, Microsoft can get very harsh on the consumer, knowing most will still come running back. Just like how the MW2 maps increased in price and everyone still got them so $15 is now the standard instead of $10.


What you can expect: (If Sony goes under.)
-Expect Xbox LIVE prices to change.
With no other real online gaming service left Microsoft thinks, "Well, if they stop paying they'll have no place to play online games with their friends..." This being said I don't think Microsoft would hesitate to raise prices in memberships and even points. And most of us wouldn't hesitate to pay the new fee. Another reason is because PS3 players will begin to migrate to the Xbox, can the servers really handle it? I mean PSN had 77 million active accounts compared to Xbox LIVE's 33 million. Meaning Microsoft would need more powerful servers, which of course cost more money. (Not that Microsoft doesn't have it.)


-Expect game prices to go up.
Okay, scenario, EA is making games for PS3, and Xbox. They get a decent amount of money between the two. Drop one of those, their profits can drop by up to 50%. How will they make up for it? Making their games more expensive. Do they have every right to? Of course. Don't be surprised if you see games going up in price, or DLC.


So before you laugh about the PS3 please consider this may have a HUGE ripple effect on you as well.

I doubt they would raise any prices on xbox as it isnt the only thing they make money off of they get alot of money from alot of other programs and stuff they make and all of ps3 users coming to xbox 360 i would think they would make some type of special like theyve been doing like the really cheap family deals.

Ok console war starter. But good point. I got the PS3 the first week it came out and got the Xbox 360 in 2010 and IMO it's ALOT better.

Dude, it's Microsoft. Even if they make (just a random estimate) 1 billion dollars a year and they found out how to get an extra $100,000 they would.

Not really, Nintendo doesn't have any extreme games like Halo, Killzone, God of War, Fable.

nintendo been making games since '83 t ( im a xbox guy)
xbox will have 2 more competition PC and Wii thats it sony's ps3 sectin will go not all of sony we dont even need sony i thing Vizio TV's are beter and Windows 7 and 8 ftw
