This is my tutorial on how to install retail .pkgs on your PS3. It also includes a built in patch blocker and can be set to update games automatically. The video is a little rough because it was the first time I installed the firmware and I was learning about it while I was installing it.

EDIT #2: This method now works with 4.20 to do it you just
1) Update via internet once the 4.11 modded fw is installed
2) Go over to security settings
3) Hold down L1+R1+Select+Square
4) Enter the 4801
5) Enjoy!

Enable Demonstration Mode on 4.11 OFW

Why not just add on to this thread;)
You need the 4.11 Demonstration Mode Firmware anyways to install retail packages.

For 4.20 wouldn't you need a modified firmware as well?

If you update from the MFW from 4.11 then it keeps it, for some reason it changes the security code though. You can install the 4.20 MFW but the dude who created it said it doesn't matter

Have you tried it? It's not letting me.
Maybe is console specific?

I tried it and it worked, the security code was changed from 0000 to 4801 though. Did you update directly from 4.11 kiosk to 4.20 kiosk? That's how I did it. I did it on 2 slims, one was the cech-30 model. I think it might be because you have an e3 flasher installed

That could be, I'll just dualboot the official 4.20 and Kmeaw's.
