How to Buy a GT When You Don't Know Owner?

Anyone have reccomendations on how to buy a GT when you don't know who the owner is? I tried to create a tag today that I figured had a 50/50 chance of being taken.... of course it was. I looked it up on XBOX.COM and it has 0G and no game picture so the person who made it had to of with the intent to dump it.

Reccomendations, ideas?

LOL I sent them a message and friend add - I hope they check it or have message forwarding. I would imagine the person created it with intentions to sell it no? Like I said 0G no gamer picture and it doesn't show a game as played.

They probably made it so no one else could have it.

dont buy any gamertags unless you trust the peorson because 99% of the time its a stolen gamertag and all the real owner needs to do is call microsoft and give them their info and they can get it back

The gamertag is "IXL". I mean I don't have to have it, but I wanted to make it and if someone already had it, okay you got it but no gamerscore means they know someone was going to want it and now that someone is me, lol. It's sort of a personal thing.

Devon, how would I know though? Do you think I could call MS first and see if there's ever been a problem with that tag? As 'Airs' said... they probaly made it so no one else could have it - which I agree with. But why would you do that and not use it?

On second thought... if the tag was made long enough ago (which I don't know if you can find out when a gt was made, or last longin if your not a friend can you?). Maybe I could call MS and try to con them into releasing it on the basis that the person who made it doesn't and has never used it? On the other hand, potentially you could say this person made there name while they had an internet connection and then never came back online again no? (Therefore their score has never updated but could anyday come back online anytime.) Microsoft has pulled more bonehead moves before than that.

I'm more than down to give the person a week or two before I even consider such.

i dont know why they make them if they havent even been signed in on a xbox its taking up space for other people
