How to setup a randomized sig.
Okay so I just thought I'd post this since it can come in handy if you have a few sigs that you really like and cant choose between :P
Basically, what this does is grabs a random image from a folder and displays it. The sig is re-selected every time you load a page btw.
What you'll need:
- A server or web hosting that you can run PHP scripts on and upload images to. (000webhost offers free web hosting if you don't already have any)
- The random image script I wrote. (later on in the tut)
- A selection of images. (Png, Jpeg and Gif are supported)
Setting it up:
1.) Make a new folder on your computer called whatever you want.
2.) Now, inside this folder, make another folder called "imgs"
3.) Place all your sigs inside the imgs folder.
4.) Open up notepad and save the following code as index.php in the main folder. (not the imgs one)
http://pastebin.com/u32AcsQp
5.) Upload the whole folder to your web hosting server using either the built in system of FTP if its supported.
6.) Go to http://www.game-tuts.com/community/p...=editsignature.
7.) In the text box, enter the url for where you're hosting the folder you made. Then on the end of it put /index.php inside the image tags ([img]). For example, mine is "jordan-adams.co.uk/work/php/random/rand-img/index.php"
8.) Click Save Signature.
10.) Enjoy :)
Hope you guys like this ;P
