Character Renameing

Hello trying to rename a Character in a Too Human save game. I used Modio to download the save game even got it rehash everything just fine tested it out on xbox works fine.

But id like to change the Name of the Char i see it in the Details tab of Modio when i open the save game but it wont let me change the info and i'm assuming you cant do it this way thru Modio and wanting to know if there is another way.

I even tryed using Notepad found the name in there changed it but then Modio says it cant load it knew it was probably a long shot using notepad anyways but was worth a shot.

Any help would be welcomed please. And Thanks in advance for the info

try hex editor and just search the name and change it

How did you get it to work? I am trying to use Modio to inject a downloaded lvl 50 to replace the one I lost (HDD run over).

Please help I cannot figure this out.

I've never played the game but I would assume modding a toons name would so something like this.

Open open up the save game in Modio, after the file is open click on the "File Contents" tab and extract that file listed within (assuming there is only one, right click on the listed file and choose "Extract File") once that file has been extracted open it in a Hex editor of your choice, (try HxD it's a free one can be found here: HxD - Freeware Hex Editor and Disk Editor | mh-nexus ) Once you have the extracted file open in HxD click on Edit... Search from the file menu and do a "Text String Search" for the current name of the character, and replace all found occurrences with the name you would like to character to have.

Once that is finished back in modio replace the file within that save with the extracted edited on you just finished with by again right clicking on the filename in the file name from within the "File Contents" tab and selecting "Replace File".

Rehash / Resign and you should be good to go.

Note: Some saves take in to account the current length of the characters name, so for example if your character had the name "Billy" and you wanted to change the name to "Bob" you might have to fill in the extra space with the space character (which in hex is 20) or hit the space bar if editing text so "Billy" would turn into "BoB " (note the two spaces at the end)
