New PlayStation 3 Model Is Official

Sony's never been that great about keeping redesigned video game hardware a secret, so it's no surprise that the much rumored PlayStation 3 model debuted this evening at Tokyo Game Show.

Sleeker and slimmer, the new PS3 comes in "charcoal black," but Japan gets the super-special "classic white" option. Sony says that the internal volume and weight of the new PS3 is less than half of the original system. It's 20 percent and 25 percent less volume/weight compared to the current PS3 Slim.

Different regions will see different versions of the systems along with different prices.
North America

• 250GB - $269 (Uncharted 3/Dust 514 Bundle) - September 25th
• 500GB - $299 - October 30th

Europe and PAL Territories

• Flash Memory 12GB - 229 Euros - October 12th
• 500GB - 299 Euros - September 28th

Japan

• 250GB - 24,900 Yen - October 4th
• 500GB - 29,800 Yen - October 4th

It would have been far better for them to make this in the beginning then.
Not years later when it's already time/getting close to, on having a new console made rather than just a new look.

Doesnt look all that great imo. :/ And on top of that, I personally do not want another gen of xbox coming out. Just make an updated one with better gpu, cpu, and all the works. Ik it sounds like a new gen but still, itd get rid of all the old games because their backwards compatability sucks and itd get rid of live for it. :c
