    Default What are GPDs?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm new here and kinda new to modding, and I was wondering what GPDs were and what they did.

    Thanks

GPD stands for Gamer Profile Data, They're files that are used by the Xbox 360 to store information inside a profile, Profiles are composed of many of these files, each named with there own id like (4D5307E6.gpd) That's the Halo 3 Gpd.

Ahh, okay. Thanks. But why are they used in modding exactly? What do they do exactly?

They contain your profile data like Kaz2y5 said which in order to mod you just change the information that they contain or just swap it for an already modded GPD.

The GPD (game progress data) is a file on every Xbox 360 Game disc that is written to your gamer profile marking the game played and achievements unlocked on the game. These are moddable, but attempts to create GPD's for games that do not exist have proven unsuccessful because every GPD is verified over Xbox LIVE, and any invalid files are deleted and reported to the Xbox 360 Enforcement Team, who then views the automated report, and decides if the GPD is modded. If it is, in fact, modded, the profile will recieve a gamerscore reset. If the file is not modded, it is dismissed and the report is now an error report which may be used in an update. I have the 2.0.12581.0 (kinect) update, and I have modded my gamerscore flawlessly. This mod is not patched, and will never be patched, unless they completely change the way GPDs are recorded.

    Gay porn directory.
Or, if it's in the 360, it's basically a profile. Hope this helps.
