Not that great and i totally agree about the background and render plus the background has posterise effect if i'm correct.
You know what i do to make the background blend in with the render, I use the actual render (Depends on the size).
If it's big enough to cover 400x200 all i do is place it in a nice way mainly the chest part and then make another layer and use the render but i resize it. All the rest is quality work like C4D, Clipping Mask, Gradient Map, Lightning etc.

I'd say for first try 3-4/10
